Soils - an assessment of agricultural potential of soils in the Gulf Region, North Queensland - GRIP

This dataset is a Soil Profile Classand land suitabilitysurvey of possible irrigation areas in the Gulf region, North Queensland. The mapping covers parts of the Dobbyn, Donors Hill, Einasleigh, Georgetown, Julia Creek and Millungera 1: 250,000 map sheets (SE54-14, SE54-10, SE55-9, SE54-12, SF54-3, SE54-15) and was completed in 1999. The mapping is at a scale of 1: 500,000 and 26 Soil Profile Classes were identified. Soil Profile Classes were determined from dominant soils of the Land Systems mapping of the Leichhardt-Gilbert and the Mitchell-Normanby.
