Soils - soils of the Cape York Peninsula, Far North Queensland - CYP

This dataset is a Soil Profile Class and land suitability survey of the Cape York Peninsula, Far North Queensland. The mapping covers parts of the Aurukun, Cape Melville, Cape Weymouth, Coen, Cooktown, Ebagoola, Hann River, Holroyd, Jardine River, Orford Bay, Rutland Plains and Weipa 1: 250,000 map sheets (SD54-7, SD55-9, SD54-4, SD54-8, SD55-13, SD54-12, SD54-16, SD54-11, SC54-15, SC54-16, SD54-15, SD54-3) and was completed in 1994. The mapping is at a scale of 1: 250,000 and 115 Soil Profile Classes were identified. Over 900 sites were assessed using the free survey method.
