Soils - Soils of the Burdekin to Townsville Region - ZEB

This dataset is a Soil Type map of the Burdekin-Townsville region in North Queensland. The mapping covers a large area of North and Far North Queensland, from Sarina to Cardwell and west as far as Hughenden and was completed in 1970. The mapping is at a scale of 1: 1,000,000 and 314 Soil Types were identified. It was undertaken by CSIRO and forms part of the Land Research Series. The survey examined approximately 160,000 square kilometres of land. The landscape was assessed using an unknown method and an unknown number of sites were recorded using an unknown sampling strategy.
