Soils - soils of the Emerald irrigation area left bank section Central Queensland - EIL

This dataset is a soils map of the left bank section of the Emerald irrigation area, on the Nogoa River in Central Queensland. The study area covers parts of the Emerald and Capella (8550, 8551) 1:100,000 map sheets. Approximately 16,000 hectares of land were mapped at 1:25,000 scale during the years 1969-1973. 1,314 sites were assessed using the free survey method with very limited gridding, and 91 soil profile classes were identified.
