Get species by ID

URL: https://apps.des.qld.gov.au/species/?op=getspeciesbyid

Returns the species taxonomy and status information and other notes and images for the specified taxon id ('taxonid') from the Department of Environment and Science's WildNet database that have been approved for release. The URLs to images and maps are returned if they exist (not available for csv format). Taxon id can be accessed via the Species profile search and Conservation status of Queensland wildlife products described below.

Species profile search can be used to locate species information (by name or a taxonomy search) approved for release from the WildNet database. It uses the Get species by ID function to display species profiles with images and maps and uses the Get surveys by species function for downloading species locations.

The Conservation status of Queensland wildlife dataset that is generated weekly can be accessed to obtain a complete list of the current taxonomy from the WildNet database.
