We aim to address inequities in access to early childhood programs that promote physical activity, inclusivity, and fundamental movement skills across Queensland. Many centres, particularly in regional or low-income areas, have limited resources, resulting in gaps in children’s physical, social, and emotional development. Access to data on all registered kindergartens and early learning centres will enable us to map locations, identify underserved areas, and engage directly with centres to deliver evidence-based, age-appropriate play and movement programs. This information will also allow us to track participation trends and measure program impact. By targeting support where it is most needed, we can ensure equitable access for all children, improve school readiness, enhance long-term health outcomes, and strengthen community engagement through sport and play. Data-driven decision-making will ensure resources and funding achieve maximum benefit for Queensland families.
