Each quarter the Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA) publishes median rental data for public use. This data includes:
• median rental value (dollars per week) of new bond lodgements received
• number of new bond lodgements received, and
• number of bonds held by the RTA in that quarter
for a range of dwelling types and number of bedrooms. The data is aggregated at postcode and other geographic levels and provides some basic housing market indicators and facts by common geographic boundaries.
From this data you can calculate the volume of bond refunds by postcode by comparing the previous quarter bonds held and current quarter bond lodgements with current quarter bonds held figure.
You can access the full datasets on the RTA website at: https://www.rta.qld.gov.au/forms-resources/median-rents-quick-finder/median-rents-quarterly-data
