The data they refer to was obtained from the WildNet database (http://data.qld.gov.au) according to the publication. As far as I am aware, as part of the Coastal Bird Monitoring and Information Strategy: Seabirds, the data should be available through this data portal.

As the mentioned data base should be on a government sever, maybe you have insight who holds the data right now?
