This dataset is available on Brisbane City Council’s open data website – data.brisbane.qld.gov.au. The site provides additional features for viewing and interacting with the data and for downloading the data in various formats.

This information provides a graphical representation of the locations of the existing (as constructed) stormwater water bodies in the Brisbane City Council local government area.

It can be combined with other Stormwater data to provide the entire Stormwater Network. Not all assets within the network are owned, and maintained by Brisbane City Council.

A Water Body is a point in the network at which a large volume of water is retained. This may be represented as either a detention basin or a dam. A detention basin affects the downstream progress of stormwater run-off in a controlled manner by using temporary storage areas and a metered outlet device. A dam is an artificially created storage basin.
