Looking at the July and August 2024 data it appears that paper ticket data has been omitted for all Queensland Rail stations *except* for stations on the Redcliffe Peninsula line. I am not sure if this is intentional or an error. Could you check this please.
Hi
Thank you for letting us know, I've forwarded your query onto the relevant business area to review and if there are issues with missing data we will update the datasets accordingly.

Does smart ticketing get included in this data? I can only see go card and paper tickets. Trying to understand any differences between this data and this statement: https://statements.qld.gov.au/statements/101266#:~:text=%E2%80%9C15%20million%20trips%20have%20been,Wharves%20for%20the%20first%20time.
The origin-destination dataset is currently based on go cards and paper ticket transactions only. Transactions made with credit or debit cards enabled with contactless technology, often referred to as EMV transactions, are not included at this point in time.
As we continue to implement the Smart Ticketing system and following extensive quality assurance testing with our delivery partners, we will be looking into updating this open data dataset to include all transaction types.
We anticipate being able to provide a more comprehensive dataset next year, after the new ticketing infrastructure is fully deployed and operational.
Seconding James' question above. The open data does not match reported statistics regarding recovery of public transport compared to pre-Covid. Bus patronage can be reasonably well reconciled, but not trains or ferries, which suggests the smart ticketing trips are not included in the data. Please confirm and inform if/when the complete data will be available.

It is our intention to integrate EMV transactions into the historical datasets if possible, however the feasibility of this will be determined through the development of new data extraction and anonymization processes next year.
When the dataset is updated, we will release details confirming the nature of the modifications made, which will include information on whether EMV transactions have been appended to the historical datasets or not.

Thanks for confirming.
Do you plan on updating historic data to include EMV transactions once the process is complete?

Is there an Origin Destination Stop location file for Post 2022 Trips?
In the Pre 2022 data there is a file detailing the location of each Stop in the Origin Destination data files.
https://www.data.qld.gov.au/dataset/go-card-transaction-data/resource/9ca69d04-0629-45f3-811a-11f1fc6b2ee9
I can't seem to locate one for Post 2022 trips though. Can you please advise what we should use for Post 2022 data?
Hi
An updated version of the list has now been uploaded into the Origin Destination Trips 2022 Onwards Dataset.
