The Bowen Basin Solid Geology map was published in 1988 at 1:500 000 as part of the Queensland 1:500 000 Geology series to provide an interpretation of known basement geology information. Geology compiled from company and Departmental exploration for coal and petroleum, supplemented by 1:250 000 series maps published by the Geological Survey of Queensland (GSQ) and the Bureau of Mineral Resurces (BMR), 1:500 000 scale maps by BMR, and 1:100 000 scale maps by GSQ. Geology compiled from data available at December 1985. The map product is available to all government agencies, industry and the public for reference.
