Land resource areas - evaluation of agricultural land in the Taroom Shire, Central Queensland - TAR

This dataset is a Land Resource Area map of the Taroom Shire in the Fitzroy, Central to Southern Queensland. The mapping covers parts of the Chinchilla, Mundubbera, Roma and Taroom 1: 250,000 scale map sheets (SG56-9, SG56-5, SG55-12, SG55-8) and was completed in 1985. The mapping is at a scale of 1: 250,000 and 16 Land Resource Areas were identified. The project was undertaken at the request of the Taroom Shire Council, which had no single report or map describing the land resources of the whole shire at a suitable scale for Shire planning. Previous land resource surveys had covered major or minor sections of the shire boundary.
