Important agricultural areas - Queensland

Data usability rating :
Contains open format machine-readable open data.

This dataset identifies areas in Queensland recognised by the Queensland Agricultural Land Audit (2013) as Important Agricultural Areas at a regional or State-wide level. These areas are characterised by having the necessary conditions for sustainable agriculture, being part of a critical mass of similar land, and holding strategic significance for the region or state.

The dataset is based on input from regional and industry experts and synthesised maps of current and potential agricultural land use. The information is generalised for strategic decision-making at the regional level and is not suitable for detailed statutory land-use planning without further investigation.
