Development areas - South East Queensland Regional Plan 2009-2031

This dataset represents Major Development Areas of the South East Queensland Regional Plan 2009-2031 as initially gazetted on 28 July 2009 (Vol. 351, No.92) and updated in accordance with Government Gazettal notices of 17 February 2012 (Vol. 359, No.44) and 20 August 2012 (Vol. 360, No.80). The South East Queensland Regional Plan 2009-2031 (SEQ Regional Plan) identifies development areas within the Urban Footprint which will be a key focus for accommodating regional dwelling and employment targets. Development Areas require comprehensive planning for development and infrastructure delivery. This dataset represents the 2 major development area categories including: 1) Regional development areas 2) Local development areas The dataset is produced from the Digital Cadastral Database (DCDB) March 2009, sourced from Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy. This includes property parcels, road, railway and watercourse boundaries. Based on the existing Growth Areas in Draft South East Queensland Regional Plan 2009-2031 – December 2008, with supported submissions including current planning scheme intents, forward planning designations, and advice from local government and state government agencies. Descriptions: Development Areas are the focus for accommodating regional dwelling and employment targets, and require comprehensive planning to coordinate future development with infrastructure delivery. Regional Development Areas are likely to require substantial state infrastructure and are expected to yield regionally significant dwelling and employment yields. Local Development Areas are significant in the delivery of dwelling targets and employment for particular local government areas.
