Crown lands receipts 1849-1851

This series was created by the Crown Lands Office and the Chief Commission of Crown Lands held at Queensland State Archives.

The record contains receipts issued to individuals for payments relating to Crown Lands, including rent for occupation leases; purchase of town allotments and country lots in, for example, Ipswich, Moggill, North Brisbane, Enoggera, Yeerongpilly, and Indooroopilly; timber licences including cedar, pine and hardwood, and rent for ferries at Kangaroo Point and between North and South Brisbane. Also included are receipts for salaries for gaol establishment constabulary issued to the Colonial Treasurer. Each receipt entry records the receipt number, the amount, the name of the payer, the date, and the reason for payment. The records are arranged by receipt number and are roughly chronological.
