Exploration Permit for Minerals (EPM) 27931 Reflections was obtained to explore for copper within the Isa Valley east of Mount Isa Mine.
The project was obtained with the intention of using 3D seismic surveys to explore for copper ore on the basement contact beneath the mine.
Exploration work conducted during the period of tenure commenced with a focus on copper, but from 2023 onwards a focus on lead-zinc was implemented to align with company strategy.
Exploration work completed over EPM 27391 Reflections during the tenure period included ongoing desktop review of in-house and open-file data, the completion of a 2D seismic survey, the completion of one diamond drillhole (202205022), and re-assay and subsequent geochemical analysis of one historic drillhole (ISA810601).
Further desktop reviews of historic RAB drilling identified bedrock zinc anomalies relating to normal faults in the tenement.
None of the identified anomalies were sufficiently coherent to represent priority drill targets.
The tenement was recommended for relinquishment, and no future work programs are proposed.
