Legbar 1 was spudded at 00:00 hours on the 6th of October 2021 with the drilling rig Ensign 967.
9-7/8inch surface hole was drilled to the surface casing point at 903.0 m. After running 7-5/8inch surface casing and setting at 901.5 m, the 6-3/4inch production hole was drilled ahead in one bit run with MWD GR from 903.0 to total depth at 2550.0 m. Drilling terminated in the Pre-Permian Basement, with total depth reached at 04:15 hours on the 12th of October 2021.
The drill string was then pulled out of hole to surface and the following suite of Schlumberger wireline logs were run:
Run 1: GR-HRLA-XY Den, Sonic, (Inline)-CN-4CAL-SP
Run 2: XPT-GR (11 Pre-tests conducted, 7 Valid, 1 Pressure Unstable, 1 Seal Failure, 1 Tight, 1 Super charged).
Residual to fair gas and oil shows were observed in the Mackunda, Birkhead, Poolowanna, Nappamerri, Toolachee, Formations, and wireline log analysis indicated 0.3 m of conventional net gas pay in the Toolachee Formation.
Based on insufficient hydrocarbon saturation in the primary target zone Legbar 1 well was plugged and abandoned.
While drilling Legbar 1, MWD surveys were taken at regular intervals to ensure that the well intersected the Toolachee primary objective within a 50 m radius tolerance. At total depth, it is estimated that the well was offset by 164.0 m towards an azimuth of 13.0degree (Grid) from the surface location and was within the target tolerance.
Ensign 967 was released at 09:00 hours on the 15th of October 2021. Legbar 1 was plugged and abandoned.
