EPC1826 was initially granted to ACN Mining for a period of 5 years on July 2012, after the purchase was complete. These tenements are essentially contiguous and flank the Valeria and Taroborah Coal Deposits near Emerald in Central Queensland. Together, these EPCs form Huaxin Energys West Emerald Project (Figure 1). On the 10th of August 2017, all tenements which were previously held by ACN Mining were transferred to Huaxin Energys subsidiary – RDB Coal Pty Ltd (RDB Coal).
Huaxin Energy has completed several independent geological reviews of all tenements within the West Emerald Project. This approach was taken to best compile and interpret the overall complex regional structure and trends, to project them into the individual tenement areas, to assist in identifying best target areas for drilling coal. A small drilling program comprising of 7 chip holes was completed by Huaxin Energy in the reporting period of 2013., which four of them were located with EPC 1826.
On the 19th of June 2023, RDB Coal Pty Ltd Surrendered EPC1826 and advised that there were no land disturbing activities conducted on the area being surrendered. EPC1826 were found compliant with their environmental responsibilities.
RDB Coal Pty Limited had Measured Group complete an independent geological review of all their projects, and it was determined that that EPC 1826 was not as perspective as they had initially thought and a decision was made to surrender this EPC.
