PETROGRAPHIC DESCRIPTIONS OF THE MOUNT HEDLOW TRACHYTE AND ALTON DOWNS BASALT

This report contains petrographic information for 52 thin sections of the Mount Hedlow Trachyte in the Yeppoon area of central Queensland. is written in two sections. The first is a summary of the main petrographic groups observed in thin section from the Mount Hedlow Trachyte and Alton Downs Basalt. The second section comprises full petrographic descriptions for the lithologies sampled at the 15 landforms listed below in table 1. Representative photomicrographs for detailed the petrographic descriptions are in a separated document titled Photomicrographs to accompany petrographic descriptions of the Mount Hedlow Trachyte and Alton Downs Basalt. The location information for each sample is listed in table 2 and the end of the document.
