EPC2253 MT INGLIS FINAL REPORT FOR PERIOD ENDING 28 AUGUST 2022

URL: https://geoscience.data.qld.gov.au/dataset/cr133722

This is the final report of the Mt Ingilis tenement first granted in 2012 with 18 sub-blocks for an initial 5-year term. Mt Inglis is located south-southeast of Springsure in the Denison Trough of the Bowen Basin. The geology contains largely well exposed Aldebaran Sandstone along the axis of the southeast plunging Springsure Anticline. The sandstone unit is flanked on each side of the anticline by the Freitag Formation, Ingelara Formation, Catherine Sandstone and Peawaddy Formation and overlain outside this by the Black Alley Shale and Bandanna Formation (Rangal Coal Measures equivalent). In 2013 a significant coal outcrop was discovered while mapping the area, 1 m thick and dipping 10 degrees to the west. Geological cross-sections were constructed combining this information with drill logs from the nearby historical Asteriod 1 gas hole. Three drill hole locations targeting the western limb of the Springure anticline were pegged to target the coal seams at a depth between 50 and 200m below the surface.
