The tenement area encompassed several laterite plateaus that were considered to have the potential to host bauxite. Widespread reconnaissance-style bauxite and kaolin exploration has been undertaken by previous explorers. A small number of reconnaissance auger drill holes were completed by Cape Alumina on the tenements that were conditionally surrendered
