EPM 26175, Nychum is located in far-north-east Queensland, and extends in an approximate west-trending strip for about 15km from immediately west of Nychum homestead, 60km north of Chillagoe, to the west of the Atherton Tablelands and 200km W of Cairns.
Perlite Suppliers Australia Pty. Limited is the registered holder of EPM 26175. The company is an existing perlite producer from its operation of the Numinbah deposit, in the McPherson Ranges southeast of Beechmont in south-east Queensland.. Associated company Australian Perlite and Vermiculite Pty Ltd exfoliates and distributes both perlite and vermiculite from its Carole Park Queensland site to markets throughout Australia and South East Asia.
Targeted Exploration traverses were conducted on 2 occasions during the course of the year, including a 2 man team and 4WD to identify perlite flows within the EPM at Location 7 (see Fig 7) and also Location 3 (see Fig 7) on September 25, 26 2019 and later more detailed traverse and sample collection concentrating on sub blocks A- E within Block Town 652 were conducted on October 24,25 2019.
Work focused on bench scale expansion testing of hand samples collected from the field traverse campaigns to determine the physical and commercial potential of new perlite products that can be derived from both conventional and non-conventional perlite expansion processes.
Expenditure and program commitments were not completely fulfilled. Ongoing research is being conducted on results of bench scale testing. Constraints introduced post Covid 19 are set to be softened in the first quarter of 2021 and we expect to secure additional valuable data from test procedures being conducted by the worlds leading perlite mining and processing company in the United States Of America.
No surface disturbance was caused that requires rehabilitation.
