This annual and final report presents a summary of the geological and exploratory activities carried out during the year ending 7th July 2015 for EPC 1554, Styx Project.
EPC 1554 is located within the northern Styx Basin and adjacent to the eastern margin of the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland. The main access is by the either the Bruce Highway which travels north to Mackay or south to Rockhampton. A network of secondary roads and dry weather tracks are accessible throughout the tenure area. EPC 1554 is located approximately 3km east of the main North Coast rail corridor that extends from Rockhampton to Ogmore and then onto Mackay.
EPC 1554 has numerous environmental constraints existing around and within the tenure, and 2012 exploration activity was delayed whilst a higher order Environmental Authority was applied for.
Exploration is focussed on early Middle-Permian coal-bearing rock units such as the Carmilla Beds, Back
Creek Group and the Cretaceous Styx Coal Measures.
Geological assessment has been disrupted during this period through a sale process conducted by the
Joint Venture partners, culminating in the sale in December 2012 to Fox Resources Limited.
