EPC 1306, ECHO HILLS, ANNUAL & FINAL REPORT FOR PERIOD ENDING 27/04/2015

URL: https://geoscience.data.qld.gov.au/dataset/cr121183

This annual and final report presents a summary of the geological and exploratory activities carried out during theterm ending 27th April 2015 for EPC 1306, this tenure being in its 5th year of grant.

EPC 1306 is located 31.5km south-east of the township of Alpha and 138km south-west of the township of Emerald. The main access is by partly-sealed Dawson Development Highway west of Tambo. A sparse network of secondary roads and dry weather tracks are accessible throughout the tenure area EPC 1306 is located south-east of the proposed coal haulage rail corridor which is to connect the central proposed coal mines of the Galilee Basin to the existing Newlands rail line, near Denham Junction in the east (Aurizon, 2012).

EPC 1306 belongs to the Part Echo Hills Project area belonging to Fox Resources Limited (ASX: FXR) which is located on the eastern margin of the Galilee Basin, where coal has been known to occur in the Lower Permian Colinlea Sandstone.

Exploratory drilling conducted by the previous owners in the 2010 annual period was generally unhelpful, with boreholes intersecting non coal-bearing units belonging to the Joe Joe Group. This borehole data is currently insufficient for modelling and seam correlation but has been databased to enable cross-sections to be generated within the tenement area.

Geological exploration and assessment has been partially disrupted through a protracted sale process conducted by the Joint Venture partners, culminating in the sale in December 2012 to Fox Resources Limited. Additionally, from July 2012 the general downturn in coal exploration activities, the resource sector and securities market, have been counter-productive. Future exploration drilling will be confined to the western portion of the tenement area, in the Colinlea Sandstone. Despite that no coal seam intersections have been recorded from registered boreholes within the tenement area, solid geology maps indicate the presence of this predominately sandstone formation, which is a known coal-bearing unit. Exploration activities will be focused within this unit
