EPM 16002 contains aeromagnetic anomalies Anomaly A3, Anomaly A5 and Anomaly A6, similar to Anomaly A2 in EPM 13775, identified from the 2000 Isa-Georgetown airborne geophysical survey, released by the Geological Survey of Queensland (GSQ). Anomaly A5 consists of two prominent aeromagnetic lows, with two aeromagnetic highs located immediately to the south and two located immediately to the north. Anomaly A5 occurs on the southern periphery of a broad zone of negative magnetic anomalies of varying size and amplitude that may prove to be related to a structural or intrusive complex, with potential for base metal concentrations.
In December 2017 a Spatiotemporal Geochemical Hydrocarbon (SGH) soil sampling survey to test for blind metals mineralisation at Anomaly A5 consisted of 75 B horizon soil samples (with an additional 7 duplicates) at 100 m spacings along three, N-S 100 metre spaced, grid lines. The SGH exploration technique developed by Activation Laboratories Limited (Actlabs) of Ontario, Canada is a cost-effective, deep-penetrating geochemical technique which has been successful at other prospects world-wide in being able to detect geochemical anomalism for metals from depths of up to 900 metres. Actlabs interpretation results identified the presence of encouraging co-incident silver-copper-polymetallic anomalism, with partly overlapping gold anomalism. All of the anomalism defined by the soil sampling closely overlies the central zone of the western aeromagnetic anomaly low.
